Palembang, the Nominee of Healthy City

 The secretary of Directorate General of Disease Control and Environmental Health (P2PL), the Health Ministry (Kemenkes) of Indonesia Republic, dr. Yusharmen during his visit to the city government of Palembang yesterday said although the city of Palembang was still shrouded by smog, yet the city had succeed to be the nominee of the Healthy City 2011.
Yusharmen explained that on each period his side had indeed conducted the assessment of Healthy City to 72 districts/cities of 19 provinces in Indonesia and the result would be determined at the upcoming National Health Day. The previous day, the verification team had also begun to monitor the number of locations and order that had become the indicators of assessment.
The team was also investigating the extent to which the application of health city service oriented had run. The main indicators had consisted of several points of order such as the technical criteria and the field. The development of its indicators had increased year by year.
It had shown the benefits of the team had an impact on the improvement of basic indicators related to health and welfare of the community. The assessment of it was started from the cleanness and health of environment until the policy of local government, such as rules of no smoking area (KTR). The main order was the arrangement of residential areas, public facilities and community life which are healthy and independence.

At the same place, the head of Health Agency (Dinkes) of Palembang, Gema Asiani said the team had come to the city of Palembang to directly match the actual data that had been sent previously.
